In the US, January 15th marks the celebration of the Leader of the American Civil Rights Movement and Activist Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's birthday.
In celebration of his life and Legacy, we invite you to join us for a lecture-style workshop in partnership with Confetti, where we'll learn about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and impact through various works of art.
In this session:
Using a collection of still images and videos, our knowledgeable host will walk us through different pieces of art from various galleries. You'll also hear from voices of the artists who were all influenced by Martin Luther King's change-making legacy, teachings of love, equality, nonviolence, and the Civil Rights Movement.
This session will also include Q&A opportunities, giving participants the chance to ask more about Martin Luther King's life, the Civil Rights Movement, Black culture, and more.
Fun Fact: This year, the holiday will be observed on Dr. King's actual birthday--January 15
